The AKOTAS main site is back updating again. Part ... or all ... of the problem was that I needed to log into my new control panel, with the temporary password I'd been emailed last Wednesday, and learn what the new FTP client parameters are. But everything's working fine now.
Here we go again. Apparently the reason AKOTAS's update troubles two weeks ago didn't after all last 48 hours as my host service initially warned me (after the process started) was because my host service ran into a problem and postponed the server shift that was causing them ... till now. Once again I'm temporarily posting current cartoons at the in-progress mirror site, starting with today's (2/24).
Something's wrong with AKOTAS's hosting account. My FTP program's been reporting "login failure" As I was composing this entry, the phone tech support rep came on the phone after half an hour hold. The reason I can't connect to my hosting server is because my account is being switched over to a new server. This transition has been going on for the company's customers for months, and it's my turn now, but I wish they'd notified me before my turn rolled around that I wouldn't be able to update for twenty-four to forty-eight hours.
The site's still online, including tomorrow's page, unindexed
Now not even that's true.
Well, apparently the site's availability is intermittent.
In any case I can still upload to the in-progress mirror site so Daily Grind status isn't to worry about. But it's an imperial pain.
