qtrhorserider suggested that, while we're both between jobs and seeing little on a daily basis of anyone but each other, it'd be good for us if we at least went to online friends for our betareading. So, who'd like to betaread a coupla hundred words of fanfiction? It's in my journal in a locked post, at a future date so it's right at the top, and if you reply to this post I'll add you to the filter. Future betareading posts will just show up on your flist for you to respond or not as your availability dictates; so, if you don't mind volunteering but your plate's full this week, now's still as good a time as any to get on the filter. As a rule I'll wait three days (minimum) from betaposting before I post normally. Betaposts will have the tag beta, but probably won't be taken down after normal posting. I'll screen comments on beta posts but you can reply by email or other means if you prefer.
(Speaking of filters - my attitude toward filters on blogs is: Why? As a reader and a writer I believe in the reader's capacity to skip what s/he's not interested in on an entry-by-entry basis. Obviously I've just realized that there are cases where filtering has a practical purpose. But if you're on my flist and you filter your LJ by subject, let this serve as notice that I'll be on any filter you have. I don't friend people in order to not read what they write.)
