In observance of the passing of Andy Griffith, a reprint of my only cartoon including a character from The Andy Griffith Show. Incidentally, this cartoon was inspired by questions raised by daisy_knotwise in the 80s, which is why it's 80s-cast Doctor Who characters discussing those questions in the cartoons.

From left to right (my best guess): Lisa Douglas (Green Acres), Archie Bunker, Barney Fife, Uncle Martin, Jeannie, the Flying Nun, and My Mother The Car. (The latter two I've never watched and thus don't know their actual names.)

I was wondering why there was that one 70's character in among the 60's.

I should point out that most of these shows, aside from Andy Griffith, I never saw until college; Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, etc. weren't aired as reruns in the TV market I grew up in- ever, that I know of.

And to be honest, I never really went out of my way to watch them, either; it was more sort of, "Nothing productive on the plate, what's the least nauseating option on the idiot box today?" (A contest which, for example, My Three Sons never, ever won.)

I'm pretty sure I saw some of the latter years of Petticoat Junction in first run, but everything else alluded to here I saw in 70s reruns or not at all.

Okay, what are they all buying? It looks like Lisa is buying a magazine (probably Vogue), Barney is buying a box of candy (no doubt for Thelma Lou), and "Mother" is buying an oilcan. And Sister Bertrille might be buying a box of cake mix. But what about the others?

Uncle Joe has a bottle. Jeannie has a box of Rice Krispies. Uncle Martin has a bag of marshmallows, I think.
