Not sure. I'm only answering to reiterate (not that I'm aware anyone who reads this journal is guilty of the offense, but some things bear repetition on principle) that it's an error to equate fanfiction with plagiarism. Fanfiction is derivative work, and the definitions of derivative work and plagiarism are two different things, legally.

Also, while fanfiction is coming through common usage to mean any derivative work, it used to mean unlicensed derivative work of a copyrighted property, and I at least still use it that way exclusively. At least till we get a new work for the latter definition.
