I kind of don't mind this re-run, because it reminds us of information that's about to become relevant again. But I'd really prefer having the reminder presented as part of a new joke, if the situation ever happens again.

In other news, I have a short story collection that includes a modern-dress retelling of Percival's childhood with racing drivers instead of knights. It actually works quite well as a parallel (glamour, danger, excitement, helmets) -- except for the bit where Percival can't exactly happen to see a racing car going by on the road, so we have to accept that there's a racing track within walking distance of the cottage that Percival's mother somehow never noticed.
