Just because Temperence is a member of the NRA doesn't mean that she has ever had much (or indeed any) practice firing a gun. Booth may be finding this out the hard way.

Okay, but the dialog in this week's episode said she's "registered as a marksman with the NRA". I may not have that verbatim, but I'm certain the concepts, and some variation of the actual words, of registry and marksmanship were invoked. Even if she's registered as a poor marksman, which I doubt the NRA does, some sort of demonstration for some sort of NRA official has to have taken place.
Or am I remembering incorrectly that her accuracy was poor the one or two times Booth let her carry a gun and she actually used it? Was her usage inaccurate, or merely unorthodox? It had to have been one or the other for Booth's boss to get as annoyed as he did, but I may be misremembering which.
