We have something called the Department of Work and Pemsions, which has funded just such an experiment no less then three times with yours truly as the guinea pig. The results were consistent between the three tests: Boredom was achieved within one month, although "determination to find fresh employment of any kind whatsoever" took somewhat longer to develop.
