packrat mind
May. 7th, 2010 06:36 pmToday at the tack shop where I work parttime while looking for fulltime work, I was helping the assistant manager prepare for Breyer Fun Day tomorrow. Breyer is a preeminent manufacturer of collectible model horses. For Fun Day this year customers will come in and paint model horses - Stable Mates, the smallest scale of the three scales Breyer makes. I set up a table in the front of the store, then got out the paints and brushes. Finally I got out the bags of little toy horses that are all white waiting to be painted whatever color or colors the little girls tomorrow want to see horses in. As I pulled the bag of colorless models out of the box and put it on the the table, I thought, "Bring on the empty horses."

I have some Stablemates to paint too, if I can ever get the priming technique down so that they aren't covered in bubbles. I think I just have to be more patient and do multiple coats rather than trying to make it just a couple of coats.
