  • 19:51:31: No AKOTAS gag yet. May have to look to the idiom website for a pun, or open the Morte at random. Or modify the gag from #3faces Friday.

  • 22:18:41: @ubersoft I saw S1 of Merlin on NBC, enjoyed it. I love new interpretations (but I'd've not invented a name for Merlin's mentor).
  • 22:39:38: There is no canon - they've done that to this story since AD 500. RT @ubersoft I ... wonder why tv is compelled to change the canon story.
  • 22:40:19: You know, I wish I'd known that Twitter logins can have caps when I picked an acronym for mine...
  • 22:42:50: Owait! You can change that in Settings!! Woo!
  • 22:52:53: @ubersoft Over 1500 years, one man's "canonical strain" becomes the next storyteller's established trope.
  • 22:53:50: @ubersoft Arthur's and Merlin's story cycles were separate till Geoffrey of Monmouth. Lancelot was invented 500 years in.
  • 23:07:38: @ubersoft Well, "500 years in" was nine or ten centuries ago.

I don't see ny of this bashing you speak of in B.C. (admittedly I'm jut perusing the strip) I do like this one however

that said while I won't go into what might be up in the UK, here in the U.S. Christians are hardly in a position of being oppressed (a stronger word for discriminated against) I usually hear the new breed of Evangelicals going on about that and frankly they are cracked. After having come up against their "so called" claims that isn't supposition either. I'm being polite about this but here is the real upshot - I am about to agree that perhaps they DO need some persecution to go with that complex of theirs - if only to show them that it isn't happening. (However since one cannot argue with fanatics, nor even show them reality, in the end it would do nothing.)

here have a semi-amusing graphic.

You are assuming I was not raised Christian.  *tsk tsk*

Extended Definition:
"A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices.
The correct use of the term requires the elements of obstinacy, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing devotion.
The origin of the word bigot and bigoterie in English dates back to at least 1598, via Middle French, and started with the sense of "religious hypocrite". Forms of bigotry may have a related ideology or world views."

======================

That does describe most Evangelicals and the newer flavors of Christianity abundant in present day American (US) society.  I didn't speak to the moderates. I know you were inclusive but that is part of the problem here. Inclusivity. This moderate majority does not seem to be doing much about being overrun by these groups, more pointedly making certain to separate themselves from it. I come from an area that is now well riddled with this mindset. I have a lot more to say but not here and in a public post. I will gladly continue this conversation privately.

I'm not looking for an argument but I don't see them being discriminated against. What I see is them running roughshod over the other Christians and using intimidation and other tactics to shove their views down everyone's throats. No one is coming back at them NO ONE. Their concept of being discriminated against is a delusion.
