Jan. 18th, 2010 02:07 am- 10:20:21: Trying the Methodist church this morning. That's the church with the national ad campaigns with gay couples. Also, Sherman Potter was one.
- 13:30:59: #methodists That was nice and inclusionary. And an old man is twice a child but after years of Quaker meeting I like having the pomp back.
- 16:56:57: "Hell is other people." Sarte. "The kingdom of Heaven is within you." Luke 17:21.
- 19:08:21: Unprogrammed, I'd say. An hour of silence, an hour of business or lesson. RT @trinalin @akotas Programmed or unprogrammed Quaker meetings?
- 19:31:10: Who can tell me the name of the Bach piece used as the theme here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO04zWdh8_Y
- 22:25:16: Reading for class with Superman Returns on AMC.
- 22:40:04: I like Superman Returns, but the oh-no-we'll-drown sequence goes on much too long for the audience knowing they won't.
- 22:43:33: I'd like to have seen Jason Lane and Richard White become staples of the legends, even if in a continuity no one else used. Oh well.

I'm cradle-Episcopal. Our particular church is high enough for lots of incense and low enough for jeans. Also one of the most quietly radical in the city: we were one of the first with women priests, and I'm pretty sure the first with an openly gay rector who is in a monogamous relationship. I love that my children have been exposed to all manner of families and can see that the love of the parents is the most important thing in the kids' lives.
