Sometimes a silence is just a silence

Several LJs I've seen this week have included apologies to their readers against the possibility that the recent major maintenance move has interfered with email notification of comments that the writers would otherwise respond to. I, too, have activated email notification of comments; if you've made a comment to one of my posts or comments and I didn't reply, then perhaps it's because I didn't get email notification.

Or, I confess, it may be that I didn't have anything to add.

I find it nerve-wracking, personally. You put a part of yourself out there and without the gestures and expressions of face to face conversation, you can't tell if you're being silently agreed with or ignored.

I hear you. However, I don't find it worthwhile to comment when I have nothing to say but, "I hear you".
