sensiblecat has beaten me, despite my five years' trying, to figuring out precisely what Russell Davies has been doing differently from his predecessors, and arguably wrong, with Doctor Who. (But she cheated to do it - she went back to school for doctrate in Shakespeare.)

That is a very interesting position on the subject. I've been trying to articulate / formulate what I'm thinking/feeling/objecting to since Water of Mars - and some of what she's said does roll into it. I'll get it coherently put one of these days.

I can say that I have enjoyed Tennant's acting and will be sorry to see him go, however I'm looking forward (a lot!) to Moffat's tenure. I can't wait to see where he's going to take us. (Not very sure about about the new Dr they are handing us for various reasons but willing to take it on faith for now)
