Summary: For the timestamp meme, [livejournal.com profile] billfl asked for, "Spoiler, about a month later."

"Item," Spock read from his PADD: "Headquarters is planning on sending an Academy observer to assess whether Engineer Scott's unconventional methods for affecting necessary repairs under emergency, high-stress conditions can be quantified for instruction at the Academy."

"Archer is happy to have his dog back, isn't he?" said Kirk. "Just as long as they don't send Nickleby. He tried to expel me for passing his tests without showing up to his lectures."

"Item: Personnel reminds us that Ensign Chekov has been eighteen for two months and has not had the standard Majority Ceremony."

"Right, right. Put that together for just before his next fencing lesson. He might as well glow red in front of as many people as possible."

"Item: The Disciplinary Review Board has ruled on our actions in the Talos IV affair. The ruling is as follows: -"

"Charges, charges, blah blah, mitigating circumstances, Admiral Pike's record, heroes of the battle of Vulcan, finest tradition of the service, no disciplinary action to be taken."

"Your summary has some points of accuracy."

"I said everything would turn out all right," said Kirk smugly.

"I-told-you-sos are illogical," said Spock, with calculated faux-unintentional exasperation. "Item: Annual crew physicals are due to the Surgeon General in a month. This information will be in Dr. McCoy's weekly circular from the Surgeon General's office."

"What? We haven't been out a year!"
