I loved Wolf Lake when it was on CBS, but thought the new episodes that aired on UPN were cringeworthy. Up until now, I thought that it was a victim of Executive Meddling -- the first five episodes seemed much more like the kind of smart, intelligent drama that CBS shows, while the last four seemed like the kind of dumbed-down, sensationalist tripe more typical of UPN.
Apparently, though, all the episodes were made during the time that CBS held the reins. Maybe they saw the Dumb coming and cut it off short?
I didn't know it had ever aired on UPN. What's the likelihood they really weren't that bad, but your perspective was colored by the assumption that they'd been meddled with by UPN?
Which is the last episode aired on each network? I DVRed the pack election episode to burn onto disk, but I also DVRed the final episode Syfy aired this week on the weak assumption that it was the final episode, which I didn't think we'd ever seen. It was the one about the web investigator who is duped into setting a trap for Kanin as the pack leader, when the Cute Innocent Werewolf Girl In Denial is goaded into beating up her ex-boyfriend in front of her new beau. In fact we'd never seen it, but was it the final episode by either reckoning?
