scarfman: (me)

Friday I got a tetanus shot at the ER after slicing into my thumb in the kitchen with a table knife.

Today my other shoulder hurts.

Ow! At least you've got someone there to kiss it and make you feel better.
Poor Scarf! :-(

I'm allergic to the tetanus vaccine, the last booster I had when I was 15 paralysed the right hand side of my body for two days.

Empathic shoulders? Maybe you're part Betazoid :)

I had to read that first line about three times before it hit me. A table knife? Those aren't supposed to be sharp, are they?

My man, he is talented.

This was a great novelty for me, I'm usually the one sitting there having the "you did what with what" moment.

I've heard the worst cuts come from dull implements; it takes more force to cut with a dull implement, so you have less fine control if it. Also, because it also takes more force to cut YOU with a dull implement, you are more likely to have bruising in the margins of the wound, and also more likely to have a noticeable scar.

And it hurts more.

It really was a butter knife? *snickers* (Now that I know you're OK.)

I don't know whether to say,

"You're only supposed to sharpen the kitchen knives!"

or

"Self-harm: you're doing it wrong."
