of wanting to believe
Jun. 28th, 2009 10:48 amWe saw The X-Files: I Want to Believe when scarfmom asked us to put it on her scratch tape. We liked it. What struck me most about it was that Scully is the dynamic character, the one who learns and grows; like the series overall and like my Doctor Who crossover.

But if Carter's intent was what you suppose, it's doomed to failure: it just means that the studio will reenvision the franchise without him. Not that that wouldn't happen eventually anyway.

I only claim reenvisions are inevitable. The X-Files may, will probably, wait forty years like Star Trek and Maverick did, but it's too popular for reenvision not to happen.
