Dollhouse

scarfmom noted the other week that a problem with Dollhouse is that you're supposed to get invested in the protagonist as a character but Echo doesn't have any lasting character. It occurred to me this week that, despite billing, Echo isn't the protagonist of Dollhouse - Ballard is.

I'm wondering if we won't actually be getting to know Caroline soon, though. Echo may not be the protagonist...but Caroline is being set up.

I must admit I've had trouble concentrating on it so far (only up to 1.3 though - need my DL for Breaking Bad just now). But as far as it goes, it's certainly those *around* Echo (e.g. Strange Amoral Geek Dude whose name I don't know; the new platinum-blonde Doll whose name I can't remember; The Chickie In Charge) who seem most interesting. And the outsider chap investigating the Dollhouse storyline - I'd like to see where that goes.

(Pardon my fanfail; for some reason most of the names have completely ceased to register/I haven't picked up on them in dialogue yet).

That said, I quite enjoyed #2 (the one with the guy from Middleman as the wacko survivalist boyfriend from hell :).

Interesting that a show about unpeople generates so much poor memory for characters' names ...

I've only seen the first episode so far. Did anything happen with the murderer who seems to be tracing Echo?
