Can anyone tell me how to code the little icon that appears in the browser address bar and on Firefox tabs, that defaults to the icon for text file? And what dimensions it is in pixels? Thanks.

I must confess I've never done this, but it looks like Wikipedia's a good place to start.

Looks like exactly the information I asked for. Thanks.

Yup, favicon is the thing to do. I made one for Pagefillers.com ages ago. So if I ever did it again, I'd have to look it up again. :-)

I forget how I made the first favicon.ico I came up with, but for a couple recently I used a free program called PixelToolbox.

On some browsers the icon would show up as soon as I put it in the root directory of my webpage, but I've found that for others I had to include a <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"> line in the header of the file.
