Free day, conclusion

I did not make use for tomorrow's AKOTAS of the minor arc gag of which I wrote in this space earlier today. I almost ended up doing it in triangles, though I felt that was a copout. I have always intended that AKOTAS be done in line drawing, and though I love the triangles they irk me in AKOTAS (when they appear outside Arthur's Thing of Shapes to Come). Particularly right now, when the closest thing I've made to a new year's resolution in years is that in 2009, during the ramp up to my 2000th update, I'm going to stop cutting corners with AKOTAS (using triangles, using fillers) the way I've done the last fifteen months, particularly during fall semesters. So when an ad came on the tv and another gag came to me, even though it's a gag that won't play outside the U.S. or in fact to anyone who hasn't seen that series of ads, I jumped at it.

Possibly my most important New Year's resolution is to sleep at night. I'm not doing too well at that.
