Like others, I've tried to include (besides states I've actually visited) states I've traveled through but not over. Only I'm not certain I've remembered all routes correctly. whl, daisy_knotwise, billroper, have I got the route we took to Baltimore right? Unfortunately there's no one on my flist who was on the trip to Florida.

Almost; I distinctly remember sleeping under a bed in West Virginia; as I recall, the first choices of hotels at the interstate were all booked up due to some local event, and we ended up not far from some mine or other.

Beyond that, I can't be sure if we went straight from West Virginia into Maryland, or if we hit Virginia in passing. I was looking that Worldcon up for other reasons, and was slightly surprised to find it was in 1983. That makes sense, but it still surprised me.

I have reasons to think we DIDN'T hit Virginia, though, come to think of it, related to a subway trip I wasn't on.

Right. We slept in West Virginia on the way there and we did not drive through Virginia on the trip. I-70 doesn't go that way. :)

But we did spend some time off the interstate, I think the day after we were in West Virginia. But I think we were north of the interstate, and not south, yes.

Okay. But does that mean we didn't go into Pennsylvania?

We cut the corner off Pennsylvania heading down from West Virginia into Maryland. That was where Gretchen nearly threw Walsh off the mountain.
