She falls silent as his fingers move over her face, over her teartracks. Her mind is in such a disordered state she can't even conceive of mounting resistance. He methodically separates all the Doctor in her mind from all the Donna, and poises his own mind over the Doctor half, ready to block it off.
Then, of course, he gives her a chance, because it's what she taught him to do.
Still poised over the Doctor half of her mind, he mentally leans back toward the Donna half and asks, Did you mean it, when you said you'd rather die?
