A week and a half ago qtrhorserider tore a tendon in her right middle finger. Since she's taking the bar exam at the end of July, this is a matter of some concern. Arrangements are in process for her to take the bar exam typing instead of writing. But that means she'd have to bring her own laptop. Neither of the laptops at our house are up to two days of six-hour sessions: mine has battery and performance issues; and hers, though newer, has actually been generally in need of replacing for some time. This weekend we juggled the budget and got her a nice floor-model-discounted new laptop.

All of which is by way of explaining that she's sitting here playing a Mah Jongg game which makes whirring noises that sound as if Threepio is doing calesthenics in the room.
