I suppose if you read enough banal in-the-moment thoughts from someone you may gain a greater picture of their personality in general, but I'd like to think people would reserve twittering for URLs and other meaty tidbits that just need a quick shout to be shared.

I also subscribe to the tweets of my close friends so that we can be randomly stupid at one another wherever we are. Us young'uns need to be constantly in communication with each other, you know, otherwise the hive-mind breaks down.
