Deryni Catch-up
Apr. 27th, 2008 02:57 pmI'm rereading King Kelson's Bride. That is, I don't recall reading it before, but it's eight years old and sitting there on our shelf - I must have. (I don't remember The Bastard Prince too well either, but I remember borrowing it from the library and I do remember a bit from the end so I must've read it.) I imagine this one has subsequentquels by now, right? What are the titles? Thanks.

Date: 2008-04-27 09:37 pm (UTC)She's working on Morgan's Childhood there are two in that trilogy now (the third coming out next year I think) and there's been a re-release of the first trilogy in hardcover - you can find my name in the front of those *ok occasionally I ring my own bell*)
Did you want the entire listing of all novels in sequence? *preparing to rip out the listing*

All right. I knew she had that one in planning but I wo'nta thought she'da broke up one trilogy with another. What are the Childe Morgan trilogy titles?

No thanks - I have most of them through 2000 (lacking only the ones socked in the basement with the books what got waterdamaged in storage in 2003) on a shelf just across the room and could probably recite them in chronological or publication order myself.
The Childe Morgan Trilogy
Date: 2008-04-27 10:30 pm (UTC)--- Summer 1082 – November 1091: Donal Blaine Haldane seeks a Deryni protector for his sons.
* Childe Morgan (2006)
--- December 1093 - March 1096: Kenneth and Alyce Morgan prepare their son Alaric for his future role.
* Title not officially announced (possibly 2009)
and the 30th anniversary editions were planned before Childe Morgan so it isn't really a breaking up. =)

Date: 2008-04-28 02:38 am (UTC)Perhaps we're talking at cross purposes. I proceeded from the assumption that King Kelson's Bride is part one of a trilogy (this seems a reasonable assumption to me, since every other Deryni novel ever has been part of a trilogy) whose other two parts, I inferred from your first comment, have been back-burnered while Kurtz works on the Childe Morgan novels. Did I misinfer? Is King Kelson's Bride rather to be one in a series? Or were there two other novels in a Kelson's Bride trilogy before the Childe Morgan trilogy began appearing, and if so what are their titles kthx?

I think she will from her own comments. However she also "plans" to write a few other novels in the Deryni-verse including the hotly anticipated Orin and Jodotha book(s) and a few others. So it could be a while. She's also recently moved back to the states and is still getting settled. =)
