Fanfiction 2/3/06

Here are cartoons from the fanfiction sketchbook website since last Friday, except for Hourly Comic Day cartoons which are already in my LJ here. Arthur, King of Time and Space cartoons in a separate post.

This one was inspired by the "crisis" challenge at 500year_diary. It's an illustration of my favorite moment from the Doctor Who season that starts airing in the U.S. in March (which makes it a teaser, not a spoiler).

"Just a Good Ole Boy" eh? (snarf)

I got majorly teary-eyed when I happened on the funeral scene as I was flipping through channels.

I told my son the Superman story at bedtime the other day, and found myself editing, carefully, to de-emphasize the death of his birth parents ("they blew up? They're Dead?" he said. oh, dear. Here I go, giving my poor kid reason to need counseling.)

I didn't mention Jonathan Kent's death at all.. just sort of slid by that part of the story. the Munchkin is just old enough to associate what he hears in stories with his real life, and just young enough that he might worry that if Superman's parents are dead, then his Mom could die too. oy.

Of course, I probably worried for nothing. He just thinks it's cool that Superman can fly, and has an Ice Fortress, and gets dressed in a phone booth.
