Biopsy

qtrhorserider is scheduled for a biopsy tomorrow. I guess that's not full surgery but still something a surgeon does. She was still told yesterday that it has to come out whatever it is. I don't know whether she's informed family but when that's done I'll take the privacy lock off these entries.

The plan

The plan is, the biopsy is set for tomorrow, Friday, morning. Whether the lump is benign or malignant influences how much they need to take out in the actual lumpectomy - if it's malignant they'll want to take out some surrounding tissue too. qtrhorserider has an appointment Monday morning to go over biosy results and to schedule surgery which, possibly, may then get scheduled for Tuesday, her birthday.

She phoned her mother about it today. I'll tell my family about it when I get into my email this evening, and after that I'll upgrade these entries from private to friendslocked. But Leah is having a hard time talking about it, so we'd prefer any expressions of sympathy be confined here and she may look at them another time when she's up to it.
