It occurred to me today what a major milestone this Sci-Fi Channel deal is for the Doctor Who franchise. This is the first time Doctor Who will air on U.S. commercial primetime tv (for longer than two consecutive hours). Being on Sci-Fi it'll get advertised on NBC and USA like the new BSG half-season is - and, unless I miss my guess, during the Olympics. This is Doctor Who's best chance in a long time, if not ever, to pick up the mass audience not only I believe it can and ought to earn. [crossposted to doctorwho and drwhochat]
