"Mr. Humphries" dies and my flist is peppered.

You're probably wise. Every time Marvel does something I like they promptly change it to the opposite keep it that way for years.

With news of Captain America's murder by Joe Quesada all over CNN and the like, there's no need to pass word on through blogs and such.

CNN etc., at least in the USA, don't much care about John Inman, so the need exists, and people post.

I would opine that it's simply because John Inman (aka Mr. Humphries) pwns Captain America. Don't you see that?? Also, and this may be a minor point, John Inman is a human being and Captain America, for all his bravado and heroics over the years, is only a comic book character.

Other than that, I'd say you've got more Anglophiles on your flist than exist in the outside news and comics community pages. :-)
