Unfortunately, two of the key advantages of the webhost I use are that they're based in the same country as me and bill in our country's currency, which from your point of view means that they're on the wrong side of the planet and use the wrong currency.
Now that the rage has abated and I've determined experientally that my initial issue goes away in about ten minutes and my second issue was apparently on my end too (per blogging at Tumblr), it's looking less and less like I'm going to bother with the fuss of moving.
