"Writing your little posts or drawing your little memes or infographics isn't activism and can't accomplish anything"

A) You don't know what else the poster does.

B) You don't know the poster's essays and drawings haven't affected someone.

C) Even if the poster does nothing but post and they've never affected anyone yet, one thing is certain: not making those posts won't accomplish anything.

You know what type of person it is out there discouraging the availability of progressive ideas? Fascists.

And we know that comics and discussions and stories all affect people deeply. We've all spoken to people in fandom who are very passionate about these things, and who we have seen change their actions or opinions after experiencing them. Not all of the people, and not every story/comic/whatever makes a difference to any particular person, of course. But still, these things matter.

And also it matters very much that people get to express their own thoughts and opinions. Sometimes it's only in creating a thing or talking with someone else that you can even really understand why a thing bugs (or delights) you or make an important decision.

(And I don't see the Fascists avoiding sharing their ideas. Ugh.)
