scarfmanSeason 2018 of Doctor Who definitely has hit some sour notes but I think maybe some people who dislike it are just reacting to that the style of Chibnall’s Doctor Who contrasts much more with his predecessor’s than his predecessor’s did, or even his predecessor’s. I don’t think we’ve had a showrunner’s style contrast quite so striking to his predecessor’s since 1996.
And if that’s your dislike you’re entitled to it. I like to say that those of us who love Doctor Who because it turns into a new show every few years ought to be the last ones to get surprised and angry when there are other people who don’t care for more than one or two of them.
