I still remember the first time I heard the word "erection" in a radio ad. Nowadays ED ads are da rigger but what was amusing to me about the one I heard on the radio this morning - interestingly, an ad for an information and assistance organization rather than for a medication - was that the background music was a jazz trio piece obviously composed to simulate, without infringing on, Guaraldi's Linus and Lucy.

Ouch.

You've given me flashbacks to a certain cartoon my father brought back from his construction job when I lived with him between high school and college.

I'm not saying anything about the content.

I think I may have seen the cartoon you mean, and I'm trying not to remember it...

(I kind of hope it's the cartoon you mean, actually - I'd hate to think there's more than one of what I'm thinking of!)

The ad I hear on a local classic rock station for a "special blend of herbs and nutrients" is often followed by an ad for Ovaltine. Which is an interesting combination.

"Longer staying power... she'll be begging for it... Oh boy! I love rich chocolate Ovaltine! Yay!"
