It's been brought to my attention that there are LJers who prefer to be asked before being friended. I apologize to anyone I've friended up till now who holds this preference. But I signed up more to keep up with others' journals than to keep my own, and I've only friended people who already knew me; and I haven't had any complaints. I'll bear this preference in mind in the future.

For the record, I don't hold this preference. What's here, especially the cartoons, is here for people to see.

Edit: If you do friend me, though, I shall assume I may friend you back without offense.

It's odd. From my experience, LJ etiquette is to ask permission from the people who you do not know already. A lot of times people just think that some journals are cool and will friend just so the entires will show on thier friends page. It is the "unknown" people that usually appreciate the "hey, how ya doing, mind if I friend you?" comments. You post comics (things people want to read), so I don't think it will be long before people who you have no idea who they are start wandering into your journal and adding you as a friend.

It's also a good idea to check user info pages before friending someone. Some people have a specific protocol regarding friending, although those folks are usually anal-retentive and were toilet-trained at gunpoint as a child. :D

My friends list is quite small. I was surprised and pleased to discover you'd friended me (only noticed it today, imagine that).

I took you at yer word, and now the scarfman shows up on my friends page, too.
