If you remain a fan of the invented characters in my blue binder cartoons, the ones you were in: I had fun blogging kind of a lot about them recently at Tumblr and I decided I should reprint those entries at LiveJournal as backups.

"MCC" stands for Moreau Childcare Center. As referenced previously, the Moreau Project had begun a program where its second generation was being raised all over the world in human society instead of on the Moreau base in Kenya like the first generation.

Of course, had I spent more than every third day for only 2005 drawing the history of the original Dailies for my original fanfiction website, there'd be more of the anti-Moreau movement story retold then to be reprinted now: The sole casualty of the MCC Chicago bombing was the one person who had resolved to talk to Monica, Newton's android wife, and Akili about the growing affection between them, of which no one else was aware (Akili and Monica didn't realize it was mutual, yet) except, of course, Newton. The whole thing was going to turn into a Camelotian love triangle, to be wrapped up in a storyline for the Dailies' twenty-fifth anniversary in 2001 that was going to retire all the Dailies' invented characters except Aihok and Effex. Then internet fanfiction came along and effectively derailed all offline Dailies scenarios. None of the Monica-Akili romance survived into online original Dailies. Monica only appears in one that is among the upcoming reprints. As of some Flash animations I did in 2006, Infinity Labs is still in operation.

Also: Maria was a doe. The MCC bombing was the cover story of Time and/or Newsweek when it happened, and the cover photo was of Maria's son on the scene of the bombing. Having "killed Bambi's mother", the anti-Moreau extremists who'd done it realized it was a public relations disaster for their cause, and backed off whatever their followup plans may have been. There was a storyline involving a televangelist's persecution of Moreau people, but he eventually died and went to heaven where he got called on the carpet by God. "Did I not create the universe because I was lonely? Where will I find any peers except among beings who create other beings??"

Newton donated the Chicago area Infinity Labs buildings and grounds (they were out in the western suburbs somewhere; if I knew exactly where I've forgotten now) to the Moreau Project to establish a new MCC with. Now that Infinity Labs was less a secret science institution than a secret advocacy organization for other secret science institutions, it didn't need all the space. Labs headquarters was moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in-text and out-text because that's where I lived at the time, and I was Newton's administrative assistant. A commute to Chicago wasn't a burden to an employee of an outfit with interdimensional travel, but now that Newton had given up Windy City Base there was no reason not to consolidate his offices into Derby City Base.
