Date: 2015-09-24 01:32 am (UTC)I have seen The Magician's Apprentice. The reason I headed this Tumblr discussion as being from 2006 (besides its being from 2006) is I wanted to make clear it has no spoilers for The Magician's Apprentice without saying, "NO SPOILERS FOR MAGICIAN'S APPRENTICE" which has potential for spoiling Magician's Apprentice if one thinks about it enough. I stayed off the internet Saturday from noon CDT till I woke up Sunday morning to avoid spoilers till it came on Amazon Prime. Not having the identity of the person unmentioned in the episode previews and in the prologue on Karn spoiled for me before its reveal in the teaser/cold open gave me the chills the episode meant the reveal to give. I'd rather not blow that for someone else, which is why I'm not mentioning that identity even now despite my contention above that associating my essay with the episode gives away what I'm trying to give away.
I think everything the Doctor does in the teaser and in the next-time-previews supports my contention that the Doctor doesn't know his own mind where destroying Daleks is concerned, and especially not where unhappening them is concerned.
