Tonight's Hero of Three Faces archive retcon project is to replace Red Nose Day Doctor Nine with Red Nose Day Doctor Thirteen, for two reasons, which range from obvious to matters to no one but me.

The obvious reason is to bring into my cartoons the only existing female screen Doctor. I'm ashamed not to have done it before now. I plead assumptions I'd failed to notice are no longer valid, which brings me to the other reason.

The reason which matters to no one but me is that the face I've always used for Red Nose Day Alternate Doctor is the one that the Doctor stops using in The Curse of the Fatal Death, the air date of which is in my chronology when Red Nose Day Doctor starts appearing. In the continuity of my fanfiction of 1999 that made sense, because I'd consigned the events of Fatal to a dream, in order to convert the girl companion from someone called Emma into the third incarnation of the Doctor's half Romulan half sister Saavik of Vulcan, whom I'd already used in one prose story but had no screen or cartoon face for. But since I rebooted the Three Faces continuity last summer and the Fatal companion has reverted to being someone called Emma (even though Saavik is still half Time Lord), there is no need to unhappen Fatal, so the Red Nose Day Doctor's face needs to be the one that Fatal ended with.

There's only one cartoon in the active archive that this affects, but I've already scripted another for her for the new season in the fall. First: triangle character design.
