Date: 2015-04-11 04:46 pm (UTC)Also with you hadn't stopped AKOTAS. I don't know half the characters you draw with triangles, and don't recognize most of the ones I have heard of, anyway.

Date: 2015-04-12 02:50 am (UTC)As for the triangles - I'm aware that few like them as much as I do, but I do.
As for the multiplicity of characters that appear in my fanfiction - I've suspected for many years that the wide, eclectic net I cast is likely to confuse anyone who doesn't watch exactly the same programs I do and each with exactly the same degree of interest (which is to say, more likely to confuse everyone) than draw them in. But as Salinger said, the material chooses the poet, not the poet the material.
As for AKOTAS - see Salinger above. I've said it before and I'll say it as often as I must: as rewarding as AKOTAS was to me and its readers, it also was the final nail in the coffin for the argument that I'd be happier and more prosperous if I invented my own characters. Also it was planned from the beginning to be a finite project. (Though admittedly originally to last two and a half times as long as it did. However, by the time I decided my wife's illness had taken away my capacity to produce AKOTAS, I had already pared that down so much that, had she not taken ill, AKOTAS still would only have lasted three and a half years longer instead of fifteen.) Now, I won't say that I'll never return to AKOTAS in some form. But I don't promise I shall, either.

Date: 2015-04-13 04:25 am (UTC)The "next panel" link might be difficult for some readers to find, the way it's tucked in amidst the "next cartoon" links; and a reader not used to the slideshow format might not realise that "Panel Order" is the thing they're looking for.
(For what it's worth, I like the variety provided by the multiplicity of characters. I don't watch exactly the same shows you do, but I'm at least vaguely aware of most of them.)

Date: 2015-04-14 01:28 am (UTC)You make a good point about the panel order label and position, but I don't know what other options for either placment or nomenclature would make things clearer to the most people. That navigation too was described when the format was implemented, in the cartoons; but that was years ago and before the page layout modification after the slideshow interregnum. Perhaps that needs to be reviewed in the cartoons annually. Too late this year though.
