Decided to start keeping up with all my webcomics again tomorrow after giving them up for about three months because reading them daily had got to feel like a chore. Once a month I've been catching up on particular favorites, and I did that today, and it struck me that the ones that aren't adventure or fantasy are basically Friends in four panel increments. I still stand by my resolution formed during the last years of Arthur, King Of Time And Space that another daily general interest webcomic project would be a mistake for me, but the web needs a slice-of-life comic about AARP members.

Your work with which I'm most familiar, the early-1980s pencil-on-blue-lined-paper Dailies, seems like "basically Friends in four panel increments," though they sometimes veered off into SF and fantasy adventures with the same cast of characters.

It's true that that's what my cartoons were when I lived in Chicago (and Louisville), but that was before the internet made them common and my readership (and everyone else's) had a glut of them to choose from.
