Ooooh, I see potential for Herr Freud... I don't know how many people I've seen in fandom (and even out of fandom) over analyze things to the point where the fact that it was just a silly joke or just part of the story is completely lost.

Mostly I drew that one because I belatedly realized that my Arthur is right now successfully accomplishing exactly what President Bush has been attempting and failing for four years, and I don't want anyone mistaking it for a commentary.

I think the difference is Arthur is cutting a path through the countryside on his way to make a point about what amounts to "protection money", whereas Bush is (ostensibly) carpet bombing the countryside looking for a global-level criminal and his army of supporters to (ostensibly) bring him/them to justice. Freud may see a parallel but I can't honestly say I do.

Of course that's just one person's opinion, but I feel it's worth expressing.

Well, see, the difference here is that Arthur's knights don't stay. They march through and move on.

Y'know, I love these weekly recaps. I read AKOTAS every day - it's 2nd on the alphabetical link list - and chuckle, or have a thoughtful smirk, or even laugh out loud.

And then you put the whole week together, and it's like I've seen them for the first time. I laugh all over again - and sometimes see patterns which weren't apparent when read daily.

I have to say that the comic with Morgan's realization that they love each other was actually kind of sweet - and makes Morgan far more sympathetic than she's generally portrayed. Well done!

As for "war analysis," well.. perhaps if Bush was killing giants for people, they'd huzzah at him too. Not that I saw any corrollary in the storyline 'til it was brought up, I'm just sayin' it now that it's been brought up. :)
