"Ducard"? I knew when I saw the ads Finally saw Batman Begins. You were right, everyone.

E(X)-franchise Everyone seems to agree what the flaws of X-Men: The Last Stand are, but there's difference of opinion on whether they ruin the movie.

Maybe Marsters shot himself in the foot I saw on the Sci-Fi channel website that Joss Whedon is on for a new project at Dark Horse Comics. But it's not the Firefly project I've been hoping for and expecting since the the Serenity box office disappointed; he's working in the BVS/A universe again. It didn't say anything about story. There've been reports that a Spike movie was on the drawing board, but Marsters kept saying he'd be too old for the part soon. (I'm still expecting that Firefly comic series you know.)

There are flaws in "XM:tLS", but I don't think they in any way ruin the movie (the most obvious one to me was that when Magneto & the brotherhood land the GGB on the island, it's mid-afternoon, but when they step off, it's nighttime). It ends up with a universe very different than curent X-Continuity, but it's still a very exciting picture.

BTW, if/when you go, do not leave when the credits roll. There's something very - interesting - at the very end.

If you've seen Batman Begins, you know about Ducard. If you haven't, it would be unfair of us to tell you, if only because it would deprive you of the pleasure of spotting it for yourself.

I find myself in an awkward position, then, for I did see Batman Begins, but can't recall hearing the name or realizing its significance.

It's not the name itself that's significant, but something about the character to whom the name was applied. Check the IMDb cast list and see if that doesn't jog your memory.

(I didn't spot it myself, incidentally, until just before it became really obvious - although I remember thinking several things that suggest in retrospect that my unconscious was on the right track. Maybe if I'd seen the ads...)

The newest X-film, to me, caputures almost exactly the spirit of old Clairmont/Byrne X-Men. Unfortunately, that's not necessarily a compliment.

I would also really like to see a new Firefly comic series, if for no other reason than the Serenity one that came out around the time of the movie sold like hotcakes at the store that I worked at and even brought in new customers.
