Pretty sure they were all back when everyone appeared on the beach. Once the Angels had fallen into the Crack, the entire adventure was unhappened.

I don't spend a great deal of time talking about the show, I don't frequent any message boards or anything, but I had a theory (and as much as it would bruise my ego, I doubt that it is unique) regarding Doctor Song's true identity, and I wanted to float it by someone, if you would let me.

Although, I really should re-watch Silence in the Library and Forrest of the Dead first, to flesh it out, or possibly disprove it to myself.

Octavian was dead, I'm pretty sure. I'm assuming that the others were too. I thought there were far fewer of them there at the end?

ETA: Andy points out that the ones we saw at the end could have been backup, or a rescue party or something. I didn't really look at their faces, so I don't know if this idea is valid.

My theory is that she's really Jenny. But that's not one I can substantiate at all.

At any rate, the name issue is easy. She tells the doctor his name, and now he is able to remember it in order to tell it to her.

All the clerics were dead - the ones on the beach were the ones who came to accompany River back to the ship and collect any equipment left behind by Octavian and his small team. Octavian DID mention (in part 1) that he had 20 clerics under him - and we only saw five of those...

Yes, Octavian said he had twenty clerics under his command, and then midway through "The Time of Angels" we were down to four.

In a way, the only death in "Flesh and Stone" was Octavian. The other four clerics, the ones left with Amy, "unhapppened." They didn't die, exactly, because they never existed at all.

But he didn't have 20 men with him on the surface of the planet, when he first arrived at the crash site - he had five. So where were the other 15? Logic says they were aboard a ship which was waiting in orbit.

And I don't believe the other deaths unhappened, or that the men didn't exist - the episode didn't give me that vibe at all.

Meh, it's rubbish. I had this thing going that River was a future regeneration of the Doctor, and it fit in some ways, but after re-watching those episodes (unless Steven is planning on doing some major retconning to his own work) it doesn't really fit in other ways.

Still, it was fun to think on.
