Lemme get this straight.

Torchwood spoiled start to finish.

In the first episode of Torchwood a straight team member is killed off to make room on the team for the audience's identity figure. Later in the first season she comes back and tries to kill the new character to stay alive. In the middle of the second season, a sometimes bi but mostly straight character on the team is killed but resurrected and continues to serve. At the end of the season that character and a sometimes bi but mostly straight character who's got a het crush on the resurrected character are both killed (and not replaced though they were two-fifths of the team). The character who was killed in the pilot and the new character had also had het relationships with the temporarily resurrected character. In the third season miniseries a teammember professing to have been straight until his present relationship dies.

So ... now Torchwood is homophobic? Because it saved the poof for last?

Not even bothering with that article, because I really don't want to know (and the meme's doubtless hashed it out already), but Torchwood does have its issues with portraying queerness, IMO. Not with Ianto's death, but elsewhere. "Greeks Bearing Gifts" still pisses me off, and I don't care if it does make me an entitled fanbrat. Especially in conjuction with "Day One," even though that ep is So Bad It's Horrible to the point that I just can't help mentally writing it out of existence.
