I'd agree, with the caveat that there are a couple of job areas (chiefly, telemarketing) which I personally wouldn't apply for - though in those cases it tends to be because I believe I'd be fired in minutes.

As my housemate remarked recently "No, what I wear for work needs to be able to handle blood, urine, faeces or vomit."

When your job involves all of those, it's messy - but it can be rewarding.

I file that under Ethical Criteria. It's not so much because telemarketing is a bad job IN AND OF ITSELF, as that it's a job DOING BAD THINGS. The simple rudeness of using a medium that someone else pays for to shove advertising upon them aside, the services and products sold by telemarketing are often dubious or shoddy, and those most vulnerable to the lures of telemarketers, like those who fall prey to spam, are often those who can least afford to be ripped off.

The difference between a telemarketer and a drug dealer is that a drug dealer is selling something that his market WANTS.

(And yes, I've said that to telemarketers on the phone.)
