Today I reread some of my old fanfiction. Most people who think of themselves as writers can't bear to look back on any of their own work that's more'n, say, a few years old, but I rather enjoy it. I suppose it must mean I don't progress any. Or maybe I'm just doing what C.S. Lewis described about the Narnia chronicles, and writing the stories I'd like to read.

Anyone as prolific as you must be progressing. I imagine if someone did an analysis of your works they'd find who you've improved technique and structure, character development and so on and so on... I'm inclined to believe the latter of your two suggestions, you just like what you write.
