March 1981.
1a. Why?
I caught the last three episodes of Genesis of the Daleks in "feature format" on WTTW in Chicago.
2. What was your first episode?
I caught the last three episodes of Genesis of the Daleks in "feature format" on WTTW in Chicago.
3. Which episodes have you seen?
All of them still extant, as far as I know. No reconstitutions though.
3a. Favourite?
The Two Doctors.
4. Are your friends/family interested in the show?
My wife is a Doctor/Rose 'shipper.
5. Which Doctor is your favourite?
What is this Earth favorite Doctor you speak of? He's all the same character.
6. Which Doctor is your least favourite?
Which part of, "He's all the same character," didn't you understand?
7. Which TV companion is your favourite?
Peri.
8. Which TV companion is your least favourite?
I don't maintain least favorites of anything.
9. Do you listen to the Big Finish audios?
The only one I have is Storm Warning.

The only one I have is Storm Warning.

The only one I know is Charley.

Many, but hardly most.

No, and it's never been a serious ambition: They don't print crossovers.

The ones I reread most often are the one with the Venusians and the one with Cleopatra's children.

Just what was printed in DWM in the 80s when I read DWM.

Oh, I dunno. In principle the ones with Merlin in, I guess.
13. Do you watch any of the spinoffs (e.g. Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures)?
As they air in the U.S., yes.

Not having seen any Sarah Jane Adventures yet, I can't say.
14. Is there any particular episode/book/audio/comic you desperately want to watch/listen to/read?
I understand that the audio line featuring Peri and/or the Doctor's sixth personality have proven to many that the problems perceived about Seasons 1985 and 1986 were in how the characters were handled rather than in the characters themselves or who played them.

I draw it more often than I write it.

I don't have any works in progress.

I create all my own icons.

Right now I'm enjoyingcatsfiction's Life in Cardiff, perhaps particularly because it's something I'd never write.

One or two in Chicago in the 80s. One was Katy Manning's first ever.
5. Have you ever dressed up as a Doctor Who character?
I have the scarf.
6. Do you own any Doctor Who merchandise?
Besides books? Can't think of anything. My wife got the Doctor Ten and Rose action figures for ... Christmas? Our anniversary? I suppose the Slitheen that's never been taken out of the package is mine.
7. Are you a fan of Russell T Davies?
Yes. I forget sometimes, but yes.
7a. Steven Moffat?
Definitely.
7b. Paul Cornell?
Father's Day is my favorite 21st century Doctor Who so far.
8. What say you to Season 6b?
I don't see the need.
9. The UNIT dating controversy?
Obviously it was caused by the six-year time differential shorted out on Mawdryn's spaceliner.

11. Multi-Doctor episodes?
They're good because they're rare.
12. What's your favourite Doctor Who technobabble?
"Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow." You can't beat the classics.

Yes.

No.

No. Ocean in the way, you know.
15. What do you think of The Curse of Fatal Death?
I incorporated Curse's Doctor into my fanfiction. Shalka's too.

There's no such thing as canon.

Date: 2008-02-11 12:46 am (UTC)This is not entirely true: Two of the novels guest-star Sherlock Holmes, and one guest-stars Thomas Carnacki. It's only continuities held hostage by copyright lawyers that they don't print crossovers with. (Not that that helps you, I realise.)
