Aug. 17th, 2024 07:54 pmYesterday I was out driving on some errands, and rush hour was approaching, and I pulled in behind a traffic backup from a lane closure. For a moment I was reflexively prepared to get annoyed but then I said to myself, "I'm in no rush;" and then I had a revelation, something I already knew about my retirement but hadn't articulated yet.
I'm never in a rush any more.
I don't have anywhere to go. I don't have anything to do. Except what I decide to do. Any rush I might be in, I volunteered for and so have no reason to gripe. Being retired rules.
It gets better.
