I LIKE your hand-drawn style; I've actually been studying it to see just how you manage such expressiveness and such distinctive characters with so few lines. Your hand-drawn work has a minimalist clarity that reminds me of classic '50s and '60s newspaper strips -- including, yes, that of Mr. Schultz.

Date: 2007-11-09 08:07 pm (UTC)You know, actually I thought of that, that Tristram ought've been namechecked in Friday's cartoon. But I thought of it about 00:30 Friday morning [US Central time], after a long can't-think-of-a-joke day; when it would have entailed reworking all the dialog balloons in the first panel. And triangle Tristram was namechecked in the triangle cartoon this week that announced triangle cartoons, which was also the one that brought up Brittany, so I decided I could get away with it; on, perhaps it ought to be stressed, decision processes operating at 00:30 after a long can't-think-of-a-joke day. I'll probably be better about that in the future.
I do intend at this time to go back to line drawing at AKOTAS at the earliest opportunity, which hopefully means after this semester's classes are over, by which time I ought to be a little more acclimated to the schedule at my new job too.
