I've happened on the Louis Prima recording of Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody whose arrangement David Lee Roth borrowed when he covered the song in the 80s. I knew there was a reason I can't listen forever to a radio station that doesn't play Van Halen.

Now, the only real previous exposure I've ever had to the work of Louis Prima is, of course, the movie which vies with The Wrath of Khan for my favorite movie of all time, Disney's The Jungle Book (the original, animated one, natch). So when I listen to Gigolo/Nobody today, and probably for the rest of my life, the accompanying mental vision is of the song performed by an orangutan backed up by monkeys.

You have a gift for this.

Thank you. I'm not going to be able to get that image out of my head for the rest of the day. I hope you're happy. ^_^
