GARP

Brought to mind by my last meme post.

Lots of STAR WARS fans were dismayed by the innovation in EPISODE I of the basis of Jedi powers being microscopic symbiotes called midichlorians, on the grounds that till then Jediism was egalitarian but now it was hereditary. Silly, unimaginative STAR WARS fans.

Oh... I didn't have a problem with that. It's not like it wasn't FRIGGIN' established long ago "The force is strong in my family." What, not hereditary?

I had a problem with "Oh, he didn't have a father. No one impregnated me." "Gosh, the midichlorians must have wanted him born."

Oh yes. I forgot about that one. Still, Palpatine forced Anakin's birth on a "random" slave woman, then didn't make sure how the boy was raised?

I'm inclined to believe smarmy Palpatine lied through his teeth.
