It's been making the rounds; I believe I got the link from BoingBoing originally. I was hoping you'd bring up this topic again, so I could point it out to you without getting lost in the comments.
I've recently found myself scrutinizing my "I Don't Read Fanfic" stance. I mean, I read AKOTAS, I read mainstream superhero comics (which are written By Fans For Fans these days), I watch Star Trek, I love "reinventions" of fairy tales and classic literature, and things like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I enjoy folklore, and I'm well aware that those old stories have passed through innumerable iterations.
And yet, until I actually sit down and THOUGHT about it, I didn't consider any of that "fanfic". I'm starting to see the consistencies in "where I draw the line", but that's going to take a journal entry all its own to really explore.
